Katie Aguila, Head trainer and instructor
I have been passionate about horses from a very young age. I sat on my first horse at around 2, spent my childhood taking lessons, riding and caring for my horse, and spending every second of free time at the barn all the way up until I took my horse with me to college. I graduated from Feather River College with degrees in Equine Training, Pack Skills, and Ranch Skills. By 2014, I had taught summer camp for 5 seasons. In 2018 I began teaching lessons and training horses full time. Every day I work to further my knowledge and skill in training horses and teaching lessons. I have experience in a wide range of breeds and disciplines.
Janae, Assistant trainer and instructor
I have always had a passion and interest in working with horses because they consistently challenge me to step out of my comfort zone to learn new skills. I love that there are always new ways to become a better rider and improve horsemanship. Riding has been an incredible confidence builder for me, both in and out of the saddle, and has shaped the way I approach challenges in all areas of my life. I am deeply grateful to Katie and for the opportunities I’ve been given to learn, teach, and grow through KJ Horsemanship. I truly enjoy helping riders build confidence in themselves, skills in riding, and a positive connection with their horses.
